This policy explains what personal data Culio collects when you visit our website or request early access, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices and rights you have.
1. Who we are
Culio is an AI customer communication platform that helps businesses talk to their customers across WhatsApp, Instagram and their website. Culio is a product of Bhyte Software ("Culio", "we", "us" or "our").
We are the data controller for the personal data described in this policy. You can reach us about anything in this policy at contact@culio.co.
2. What this policy covers
This policy applies to our website at culio.co, the early access form, our demo booking flow, and any communication between you and us that follows from them.
When Culio launches, businesses that use the platform will process their own customers' data through it. That processing will be covered by a separate customer agreement and data processing terms, not by this policy.
3. Information we collect
Information you give us. When you request early access, we collect:
- your first and last name;
- your business name and business category;
- your email address;
- your mobile phone number, including country code;
- your consent to be contacted, and the date and time you gave it.
If you email us or book a demo, we also collect what you choose to share, such as your message, your preferred meeting time and anything you tell us about your business.
Information collected automatically. When you visit the site, we and our providers collect limited technical information such as pages viewed, referring site, approximate location derived from your IP address, device type and browser. Our analytics is designed to measure aggregate traffic and does not build advertising profiles.
Cookies and similar technologies. We use strictly necessary storage to run the site and to remember your cookie preferences. Measurement, experience and marketing technologies are only used where you have allowed them in our cookie banner. You can change your choice at any time through the cookie settings on the site.
4. How we use your information
We use your information to:
- add you to our early access list and manage your place on it;
- contact you about early access, onboarding and demos by email, phone call, SMS or WhatsApp, where you have agreed to this;
- understand which kinds of businesses are interested in Culio so we can prioritise what we build;
- schedule and run demos you book with us;
- keep our website secure, prevent spam and abuse, and fix problems;
- comply with our legal obligations and enforce our terms.
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use it to make decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects about you through automated means alone.
5. Our legal bases
Where data protection law requires a legal basis, we rely on:
- Consent for contacting you by email, phone, SMS and WhatsApp about early access, and for non-essential cookies. You can withdraw consent at any time.
- Steps before entering into a contract when you ask us for a demo or access to the product.
- Legitimate interests in running, securing and improving our website and understanding demand for Culio, where those interests are not overridden by your rights.
- Legal obligation where we must keep or disclose information by law.
6. WhatsApp and phone communication
If you agree on the form, we may send you messages on WhatsApp using the WhatsApp Business Platform provided by Meta. Those messages are also subject to WhatsApp's own terms and privacy policy.
You can stop WhatsApp messages at any time by replying STOP, by blocking our number, or by emailing us. Opting out of WhatsApp does not remove you from the early access list unless you ask us to.
8. International transfers
Some of our providers store or process data outside the country where you live, including in the United States and the European Union. Where we transfer personal data internationally, we take steps required by applicable law to make sure it stays protected, such as contractual safeguards with our providers.
9. How long we keep information
We keep early access information until Culio launches and for up to 24 months afterwards, or until you ask us to delete it, whichever comes first. If you become a Culio customer, we keep your information for as long as your account is active and as required by our customer agreement.
We keep a record of your consent and any opt-out for as long as needed to respect your choice and to show that we have done so.
10. How we protect information
We use technical and organisational measures to protect personal data, including encryption in transit, access controls and reputable infrastructure providers. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we work to protect your information and will notify you and the relevant authorities of a breach where the law requires.
11. Your rights
Depending on where you live, including under Ghana's Data Protection Act, 2012 (Act 843), you may have the right to:
- ask whether we hold personal data about you and get a copy of it;
- ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete data;
- ask us to delete your data;
- object to or ask us to restrict certain processing;
- withdraw consent at any time, without affecting earlier processing;
- ask for your data in a portable format;
- complain to a data protection authority, such as the Data Protection Commission of Ghana.
To use any of these rights, email contact@culio.co. We may need to verify your identity before acting on your request, and we will respond within the time required by law.
12. Children
Culio is a service for businesses. Our website is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has given us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as Culio develops. We will post the new version on this page and update the date at the top. If a change materially affects how we use personal data you have already given us, we will tell you by email or another appropriate channel before it takes effect.
14. Contact us
Questions, requests or complaints about this policy or your personal data can be sent to contact@culio.co. You can also read our Terms and Conditions.
